Soap. We use it every day. I hadn’t thought much about it. But I first got into nicer soaps from gifts. Not only did it make the experience of bathing much more enjoyable, my dry skin loved it! Seeing the results of a healthier glow made me realize the benefit of moisture starting with my soap even if I did just wash it off.
What is it?
A handmade, natural moisturizing bar soap for the body (and face!) that is packed with natural ingredients that are loaded with vitamins and nutrients. The bar I got has some Jasmine in it.
Why I tried it…
When you start looking at the ingredients on most soaps you won’t recognize a single product in the ingredients (other than water). Even nicer soaps that boast “natural” ingredients like oatmeal use larger amounts of other ingredients like Sodium Tallowate (animal fat). The ingredient list for the Nopalera bar soap is short and I know all of the ingredients. Unlike many soaps it was difficult for me to find the listing of ingredients (even those that say they are “all natural”)
First Impressions
Pretty color, shaped like a cactus pad (I found this easier for gripping!) A light jasmine scent. By holding the dry bar I could tell it was more moisturizing. It left my fingers smelling nice and feeling soft.
How I used this
I got my body and face wet and then directly applied the bar over my skin. Then I lathered the bar on a washcloth and worked over my body and face. (Note: I usually NEVER use bar soap on my face due to how much it will dry out the skin. It makes me break out! But I felt comfortable using this soap even on my face.)
Pricing
$14/ 4 oz. bar. Pretty steep for soap but do keep in mind this delivers a punch of vitamins and moisture all in one. And this is not a soft bar so it lasted longer.
Results
My skin was left soft and supple right after the shower. The natural ingredients left my body feeling smooth after using this!
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Makes skin feel moisturized and look healthier (so nice for an extra boost in winter!)
- I truly felt comfortable using this soap on my face and body because of the pure ingredients.
- Not soft soap so it will last much longer than other soaps I have
Cons:
- Price – One of the higher priced bar soaps out there
Bottom Line:
I will continue to buy this soap! Maybe not the only soap I use from now on, but this would make a great gift or when I feel like spoiling myself.
